Bilateral cooperation

As the Sustainable Development Goals can only be reached through international cooperation, the Swedish EPA cooperates with a wide range of individual countries.

Bilateral environmental cooperation enables us to contribute not only to the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, but also to Sweden’s own environmental quality objectives.

The purpose of bilateral cooperation

  • To exchange experience in environmental management
  • To support the implementation of commitments made within the EU or international convention efforts
  • To pursue Sweden’s key issues
  • To build alliances
  • To create understanding for others’ positions in international negotiations.
